Summary about ​Akhtar, Lead Counselling Psychologist.
MY EXPERIENCE
Akhtar began his career as an Enhanced Caseworker for Victim Support, a national charity in the UK. He provided support and advocacy to those in distress since his 20s. Being an Enhanced Caseworker, managing caseloads of domestic abuse, bereavement, homicide and supervision and supporting the junior staff.

Akhtar continued his work in mental health for the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, which provides services across Milton Keynes and several London boroughs, including Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. This involves providing specialist assessment and advice when needed, conducting clinical screenings, or referring individuals to teams under the clinical pathway guidelines.

Akhtar has worked as a Deputy Manager in both GP Surgeries and NHS Hospitals, while also pursuing his education and studies. He has gained expertise in Behaviour Therapy and Family Counselling to better support people since 2004.
​
Akhtar has listened to many people’s struggles with mental health. He uses his skills to help them cope and manage their issues. He also empowers them to make changes and be more aware of their social surroundings to improve their relationships.

Akhtar’s counselling approach is holistic and integrative, viewing individuals as unique and providing a non-judgmental space.
Providing clinical support and guidance under the practice of supervision, Akhtar continues to support colleagues in the counselling field.
