About Me

akhtar-counselling-psychologist-london.jpg

I am a Counselling Psychologist offering a confidential, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure where to begin. Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, and it is completely understandable to feel uncertain at first.

My role is to offer a calm, professional, and supportive space where you can speak openly at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy is not about being judged or told what to do. It is about helping you understand yourself more deeply, work through difficulties, and move towards meaningful change.

How I Work

I use an integrative approach, which means I draw from different therapeutic models according to your individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.

This may include person-centred therapy, cognitive and behavioural approaches, reflective exploration, and trauma-informed understanding where appropriate.

My focus is on building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and understood.

Who I support

I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, fear, phobias, trauma, low mood, anger, relationship difficulties, communication problems, and life transitions.

What to expect

The first step is an initial contact by phone, email, or contact form. If helpful, you can arrange a free 15-minute consultation before booking.

In the first session, we will explore what has brought you to therapy, what feels difficult at the moment, and what you hope to gain from the process.

Sessions usually last 50 minutes and are often held weekly. We will work at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate for you, reviewing progress as therapy develops.
