Individual Counselling in London

Individual counselling session London

Individual counselling provides a private and confidential space to explore your experiences, understand recurring patterns and develop greater clarity around the difficulties affecting your life.

Therapy is tailored to you rather than following a fixed or one-size-fits-all approach.

A Personalised Therapeutic Approach

People come to individual counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing a particular difficulty, trying to understand recurring patterns, adjusting to changes in your life or simply feeling that something is not quite right.

Individual therapy provides time to explore these experiences in greater depth and consider how your thoughts, emotions, relationships and past experiences may influence the way you respond to situations today.

How I Work

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw upon different therapeutic perspectives according to your individual circumstances rather than applying one method to every client.

This may include:

  • Person-centred counselling

  • CBT-informed approaches

  • Reflective and exploratory work

  • Psychological understanding of thoughts and behaviour

  • Trauma-informed perspectives where appropriate

The therapeutic process is collaborative. At times this may involve listening and reflection, while at other times we may actively examine assumptions, patterns or different ways of understanding a situation.

What Individual Counselling Can Explore

Individual therapy can provide support with:

  • Anxiety, worry and overthinking

  • Depression and low mood

  • Stress and emotional overwhelm

  • Trauma and difficult experiences

  • Anger and emotional reactions

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Life transitions and personal development

You do not need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what you want to discuss before beginning therapy.

What to Expect

Your first session provides an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to gain from the process.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes and may be short-term or ongoing depending on your circumstances and therapeutic goals.

The pace and direction of therapy can be reviewed as the work develops.
