Anxiety Counselling in London

Professional counselling for anxiety in London, providing a calm and confidential space to understand anxious thoughts, emotional responses and patterns that may be affecting everyday life.
Understanding Anxiety
Anxiety can affect people in different ways. You may experience persistent worry, overthinking, physical tension, difficulty relaxing or a feeling that something may go wrong even when there is no obvious reason.
For some people, anxiety is connected to particular situations or experiences. For others, it can gradually become part of everyday life, affecting relationships, work, sleep, confidence and general wellbeing.
Therapy provides an opportunity to understand what may be contributing to your anxiety and develop more constructive ways of responding to it.
How Anxiety Counselling Can Help
Counselling may help you:
-
Understand triggers and patterns associated with anxiety
-
Explore persistent worry and overthinking
-
Recognise connections between thoughts, emotions and behaviour
-
Develop healthier ways of responding to stressful situations
-
Build emotional resilience and greater self-awareness
-
Reduce avoidance and develop confidence in difficult situations
The aim is not simply to remove uncomfortable feelings, but to help you develop a better understanding of your anxiety and how you respond to it.
My Approach to Anxiety Therapy
I use an integrative therapeutic approach, adapting therapy according to your experiences, circumstances and goals.
This may include CBT-informed approaches, person-centred counselling, reflective exploration and psychological understanding where appropriate.
Rather than applying one technique to everyone, we can explore both the immediate difficulties you are experiencing and the patterns that may be maintaining them.

What to Expect
Your first session provides an opportunity to discuss what you have been experiencing, how anxiety is affecting your life and what you would like to gain from therapy.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes and can be short-term or ongoing depending on your needs and therapeutic goals.
There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what is causing your anxiety. Understanding this can form part of the therapeutic process.
