Depression Counselling in London

Professional counselling for depression and low mood in London, offering a calm, confidential and supportive space to explore how you are feeling and what may be contributing to your difficulties.
Understanding Depression & Low Mood
Depression can affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships, motivation and everyday life.
You may experience persistent low mood, reduced motivation, loss of interest in things you previously enjoyed, difficulty concentrating, withdrawal from others or feelings of hopelessness and low self-worth.
Sometimes there is a clear reason for these feelings. At other times, depression can develop gradually without an obvious cause.
Counselling provides space to explore your experiences without judgement and begin understanding the patterns and circumstances affecting your emotional wellbeing.
How Depression Counselling Can Help
Counselling may help you:
-
Explore factors contributing to low mood
-
Understand patterns in thoughts, emotions and behaviour
-
Work through difficult or unresolved experiences
-
Develop healthier ways of responding to negative thoughts
-
Improve emotional awareness and self-understanding
-
Rebuild confidence, motivation and a sense of direction
Therapy is tailored to your individual circumstances rather than assuming everyone experiences depression in the same way.
My Approach to Depression Therapy
I use an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing upon different psychological perspectives according to your needs and therapeutic goals.
This may include CBT-informed approaches, person-centred counselling, reflective exploration and psychological understanding where appropriate.
Therapy can explore both what you are experiencing now and the experiences or patterns that may be contributing to how you feel.

What to Expect
Your first session provides an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, how you have been feeling and what you would like support with.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes and therapy may be short-term or ongoing depending on your individual needs and goals.
You do not need to know exactly why you are feeling this way before starting therapy.
Understanding this can be part of the therapeutic process.
