Trauma Therapy in London

Professional trauma-informed counselling in London, providing a calm, confidential and supportive space to explore difficult experiences and their impact on your emotional wellbeing.
Understanding Trauma
Trauma can develop following experiences that feel overwhelming, frightening or difficult to process. Its effects may continue long after the original experience has passed.
You may experience anxiety, intrusive thoughts, emotional numbness, heightened alertness, difficulty trusting others, sleep disturbance, avoidance or strong emotional reactions to particular situations.
Trauma does not affect everyone in the same way. Therapy provides an opportunity to understand your experiences at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
How Trauma Therapy Can Help
Trauma-informed counselling may help you:
-
Understand how past experiences may be affecting you now
-
Recognise emotional triggers and patterns
-
Explore difficult thoughts and feelings safely
-
Develop healthier coping strategies
-
Improve emotional regulation and self-awareness
-
Rebuild confidence, trust and a greater sense of stability
Therapy does not require you to immediately discuss every detail of a traumatic experience. The process can develop gradually according to your individual needs and readiness.
My Approach to Trauma Therapy
I use an integrative and trauma-informed therapeutic approach, adapting therapy according to your experiences, circumstances and therapeutic goals.
This may include CBT-informed approaches, person-centred counselling, reflective exploration and psychological understanding where appropriate.
An important part of trauma-informed work is establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship before exploring difficult experiences in greater depth.
